I need to focus on my incoming revenue!
As an online business owner, you probably started your business based on an idea you had, you jumped in and created a website, started marketing your product or services and started getting clients. Before you knew it (after a lot of hard work) you became busy providing services to your clients and making an income like you dreamed you could. But now that the income is coming in and you are getting more and more clients and have even more business ideas to implement you are starting to realize things are falling thru the cracks and you are spending too much time figuring out what to do next.
Business Ideas = Exciting; Organizing not so much!
When you are first starting a business you are figuring things out as you go and when that doesn’t work you try something else. It can be a lot of trial and error, stopping and starting and changing directions. But at some point, you realize where you want to focus your efforts and you also get a better idea of what you need to do to reach your goals. You also start to realize where your strength’s and weaknesses are. Let’s face it you have some great business ideas and really enjoy the associated income but you just plain don’t enjoy organizing and implementing processes in your business.
Organizing = Growing Your Business
If your business is at this point it may be time to take a step back and implement some organization. Your business needs to gain a certain level of organization, automation, and documentation for it to be successful and reach the next level. It may feel like a distraction from your revenue stream, to spend time doing these 3 things in your business BUT these are the things that will allow your business to grow more efficiently. These three things are what give businesses what they need to get to the next level.
“Spend time upfront to invest in systems and processes to make long-term growth sustainable.” – Jeff Platt, CEO of Sky Zone
Organizing = More Time = More Revenue
Organizing, automating and documenting actually increase your revenue stream. Because…
- When you are organized you spend less time searching for and redoing
- When you automate you spend less time figuring out and doing
- When you document you know what you need to do AND you can have someone else take care of that task
Taking a few minutes to set up/maintain organization, automation and documentation now can save you time in the long run. Time you can focus on the parts of your business that you enjoy and that increase your income.
So, there you have it organizing, automating and documenting DOES increase your revenue because doing these things gives you more time to focus on what you enjoy most and bringing in revenue.
“We should work on our process, not the outcome of our processes. – W. Edwards Deming
